HAGERSTOWN SPEEDWAY TO CROWN TRACK CHAMPIONS FOR 2000 SEASON

HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Hagerstown Speedway will crown their 2000 track
champions at its annual awards banquet to be held on Saturday night,
December 2nd in the Ramada Inn Convention Center on the Dual Highway,
U.S. Route 40 East in Hagerstown, MD. The gala event will get underway
at 5:30 P.M. with cocktail hour followed by dinner at 6:30 P.M.

The awards ceremony will honor Hagerstown Speedway's top 15 drivers in
each division. The top 15 drivers will receive point monies and the top
10 will also receive trophies. Several special awards for drivers and
car owners will also be presented. All drivers must attend in order to
receive their point monies.

Roy Deese Jr. of Odenton will take home $8,000 in point money for his
second consecutive ITSI late model championship. Deese will also receive
a diamond ring from Reeds Jewelers in the Valley Mall in Hagerstown.
Deese had three feature wins including the STARS 53rd Anniversary race.
For the second year in a row, Deese won the title on the final points
race.

Marvin Winters of Mercersburg, PA had a championship year in the
Hoosier Tires late model sportsman division with 12 feature wins and
will be sitting at one of the head tables reserved for the track
champions for his second time. Winters first championship came in 1993

Dave Rice Jr. of Greencastle, PA came on strong at the end of the
season to capture his third Ernie's Salvage Yard pure stock
championship. His other track titles came in 1989 and 1993. Rice had
four feature wins.

Although Kershner of Hagerstown did not record a feature win in the
Frederick Performance Center 4-cyl pure stock division, his consistent
top five finishes enabled him to record his first track championship.

Tickets are on sale for $26 each and includes an "all you can eat"
buffet, the awards presentation, music and dancing til 1:00 A.M. All
