Merrittville Speedway closes Season with a Bang
Thorold, Ont...Merrittville Speedway is the place to be on September 23rd when the on track action officially comes to a halt. The past weeks of racing excitement have seen Pete Bicknell receive his record 14th Merrittville Speedway Track Championship Award; Chad Brachmann making it two in a row in the Sportsman Division; and Darren Kish taking his first title in the Pro Stock Division.
If that's not enough in the thrill department, the final Saturday of racing - September 23rd - sees Competition Speed hosting the UFPO Dig Safely 2000 Sportsmen Super DIRT Series Event - Sportsmen will take the spotlight in a 50 lap Main Event.
Street Stocks also take to the track in a 50 lap competition that will pay $500 to win. Rounding out the season finale will be the Mini Stocks making their third appearance at Merrittville in 2000.
The Social Committee hosts the annual awards dinner & dance on November 18th. All drivers must be present to claim points money and perfect attendance awards. The 2000 Banquet promises to be the best ever with entertainment featuring the Snags. For information regarding tickets, times and directions to the Merritton Community Centre, call 905-892-8266.
