we had between 65 and 70 mini stocks show to try to get into the show. how many usually show at ya'lls larger races.
i was lucky enough to lock in the first day and i am glad. the b-mains were wreckfests. personally i only lost a fender and nose. pretty good considering the other cars. the winner crossed the finish line on his roof.

I WAS IN THE WHITE #42. HAD WILDCAT RACING ON THE FRONT FENDER. MY COUSIN WAS IN AN IDENTICLE CAR #80. THAT GOT ME SHAFTED. THEY GOT US MIXED UP AND PUT HIM IN MY SPOT ON A RESTART, BY THAT I LOST ABOUT 8 OR NINE SPOTS ON THAT RESTAST. NEVER COULD REALLY BOUNCE BACK FROM THAT FAR. ESPECIALLY AGAINST THOSE BIG MOTORS. I SAW A FEW ALUMINUM HEADS AND KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THERE WAS AT LEAST 2 IF NOT MORE 3000CC ENGINES.

BUT DON'T GET ME WRONG, I HAD A GREAT TIME. HOPE TO DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR. WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

Hey wildcat I am from AR. I had the wrong compound tires. We run the IMCA tires (dirt) I finished 8th but not a strong 8th. Should have had a harder tire on the right side. I had a better run in the heat race than the feature. Got spun taking the lead, went in the pit and put a hard tire on the right rear and started 15th and came to 3rd on the bottom. Didn't you have a aluminum head on your car? I enjoyed the racing but hated all the time in between.

no i wish i would have i might've finished up closer to the front. my uncle had one there friday but it had a warped valve or something so he went back home and got his other car. we can't run aluminum here at home and i can't afford 2 or 3 heads. but if i could i would sure have one for such an occasion as the ice bowl. my cousin finished up there aruond you. he was in the white #80. during the first caution they got him and me mixed up and put him in my spot and me in his. the cars are nearly identicle except for the number. he started 23rd and i never saw him until after the first caution, along with several more they placed in front of me, so i am guessing that is what happened. oh well, i had a good time anyway. looking forward to next year.
