i'm looking to build a new motor for the pinto and need some advise on which way to go.who sells blocks and heads ,cams and such for these motors. angi5 tell me something.

the only rule for2001 that is going to be enforced is you have to have the same type of motor that came in it stock.you can do just about any thing you want to the motor.they are going to enforce the weight rule.1# per cc {2300cc} 2300 pounds.no fuel injection or electric fuel pumps.

thanks KWTracer you are right it is how you interpute the rules.i'm goining to go with the 2500 and k. black pistons,crank ,ect.

I know of a couple of real good engine builders around here. 4s- I think you're from S. Miss. so it's not too far.
My husband has been driving for Douglas Machine in Slidell for the last 2 years and has won the modified championship both years. Their phone # is (504)649-5195. Call them. They also built the motors in the 3rd and 4th place cars too.
there isn't too much they don't know about the 2.3l's

nice to talk to ya again. Have you decided on a 2.3 or a 2.5? get back to me and I can tell ya a lot about 2.3. I have run them for five years.

hey i have been racing mini stocks for 4 years also and i have found the best place to buy parts if you want to win is esslinger

hey if i was you i would go with JE pistons they hold up alot better than k. black like i said you can call esslinger and get a 2500 crank kit for like $4,000 and trust me it is well worth it
