Hey, is the Ranger's 2.5 the same as the 2.3 just different strokes? If so it would probably be a lot cheaper to go get a 2.5 block from a junkyard than to stroke out a 2.3 right? I am just brainstorming anyways... I am probably going to have to sell my pinto anyways, kid on the way. If any of you are interested in an "almost" race ready pinto... HA... im not serious. Any of you want to buy a kid? hahahahahaha even less serious

from what I have heard the 2.5 does not have a distributer hole in the block. But if you get the crank out of one you can put in your 2.3 block. if you have a larger journal block you can use spacers. Also i have heard that that head is junk and to stick with the earlier ones. also congradulations on the kid. I have some extra wheels if you want to trade.lol

Look on the intake side of the block I believe HAs an id number on it it will be like d7 or something like that I think that the d stands for 70 and e stands for 80 and the number represents what year. Also if you know what year it came out of I also think that large journal was all the way up to 88 I or a year or 2 after. Sorry I can not help with the specifics. Bobby
