My 4 yr old son has really got me in a pinch. I was cleaning up a block and crank to send to the machine shop for boring the cylinders and polishing the crank. I did the cleanup and disassembly in an effort to save a few dollars.

I had all my bearing caps and bolts laid out so that I could reassemble them exactly as it came apart. My son got into my work area and took all the bolts out of the bearing caps and possibly moved the bearing caps into a different order than they were laid out. How big of a problem will this create for me on reassembly?? I am reworking the bottom end of the 2.3 liter and this is my first one ever so im ignorant as to what impact putting bearing caps back in the wrong order. Do I need to have block line bored now or reassemble without knowing for sure the bearing caps are in the right order?? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I looked and they are numbered in a way. It was by the number of arrows and the arrows have to all point towards the front. Im glad that puzzle is solved. I though I was gonna have to have it line bored to get it right but all appears in order.

Thanks
