hey we just started a fwd class last year and was wondering whart everybody else that runs these thinks our rules are pretty basic only mods can be to put heavy duty 1/2 shafts in it must be completely stock otherwise only other stuff is saftey and no forein cars the guy that won everyweek had a 2 dr celebrity and another track in the area had a 95 cavilar that won every week. i was thinking of getting something with a quad 4 in it anybody running anything like that i also have a tempo but it's a 4 dr and not sure if it woulkd be any good there are a couple out there now and they are not very fast

run an escort zx2 thay are pretty hot. get a 2 door early 90s late 80s pontiac grand am they have a quad for in them.

Ford escort GT or if you want to play the rules dodge omni (VW rabbit)both are extremely fast right out of the box. The omni(rabbit) has years of SCCA background so getting help with setup tricks is easy. Check outgrassrootsracing this is a great source of information.

these guys are right, run an escort, we had a guy win one on three wheels last year, tore the drivers side OFF whell and all in turn 2 and still did it, so much for the grove in the clay though. if you want gm and want to work, secretly put the quad for in a citation body...sshh, dont tell.

there are a coulpe escorts here and they aren't that fast either a zx2 sounds good but thats a lille out of my price range here i was thinking of a grand am or cutlas calai realy i'm not going to get to wild and crazy on this deal it's for my brother he wants to race and i want to start building my own cages so i figure that would be a good place to start i kinda wish they would have had this class 3 years ago i had a cavilar,a citation and a sunbird i could have used

I used an 88 grand am last year. Q4 auto, pretty fast but would be lots better with a 5 speed. Only thing with the Q4 is the bad head problem, and they are expensive, and kind of hard to find for a good one if it goes bad on you.
