i thought about building a 2.5 5.7 rod stroker any thoughts on using small journal block or bearing spacers i know some guys just use two sets of bearings and have had no problems will it help me that much over the stock 5.2 rod for a 1/4 mile track or do i just need to stick with stock 2.3. also are the bearings the same for a 2.3 and 2.5.

If your going to run a 2.5. Get a small journal block. If your going to go 2.3 get a small journal block and crank. The crank spacers are not a good idea. I say long rods for long tracks, short rods for short tracks. The 2.5 had the same distance from senterline of crank to deck as the 2.3 Changing the rod inproves the rod angle in relation to the crank. Your not going to be changing the stroke. Depending of which rod you use, you use the pistons with the appropiately offset wristpin.

If your talking about the blocks that do not have a mechanical fuel pump provision, yes you can knock out the hole, and install a different intermediate shaft. The pump mounting holes are there and are already threaded.

An earlier intermediate shaft that has a mechanical fuel pump lobe on it.

I THOUGHT YOU WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CRANK BINDING UP ON YOUR SPACERS AJ. DID YOU GET IT FIXED OR ARE YOU RUNNING A DIFFERENT ENGINE?
