What are the rules you have to abide by? Specifically the size of your engines. GM does have several choices for inline fours.
The old Chevy Monza made a good choice for chassis.

A guy at Milan tn races a chevette. not sure about engine but he is usually in the top 5 and has won some races also. most all are pintos or mustangs. They usually have 20-25 every week.

Hey Ministock, is that a Pontiac Superduty engine in your Sunbird? If so, I have a spare block drilled for the Superduty head also cams, billet cranks, etc. I also have the Superduty style block that uses a V-8 smallblock head...GM,Ford,Mopar. Gerry at Kansas Racing Products...785-922-6644.

I think for starters, most track do not allow alumnium head or roller rockers at all. I have heard of a few cavaliers that run well. I don't think you can make a chevy competitive with basically stock hardware at a reasonable price.

i beg the differ my friend i have raced with several different chevys one was a big 1000 dollar race to win this year in which 28 ministocks showed up from 3 different states my car consistently runs in the top 4 at this track i finished 16 and saw a chevett finish 5.but money is always the issue.

Well thats basically what I said. Each person has their own opinion how much is worth spending for a chance at $200 or a $1000 purse. It cost more to make a chevy competitive that a ford. And I agree with you like I said I have seen come chevys run well. And like I also said, aside from building a thumper for 1 $1000 dollar race, most track won't let you run an alumnium head or roller rockers anyway.

My son and I run a Vega body with the Vega 2.3 engine. We have only been running it for 4 weeks. The first week the front end got torn completely off and had to be replaced. Since then he has finished 5th., 6th, and this weekend 2nd after leading 18 of 20 laps. We're still sorking on the handling. It seems to have plenty of power.

That's basicly the same car as the Monza/Buick skyhawk/olds starfire. Car also came with the 2.5l , but up north they're getting real scarce. I'm die hard GM, but you just can't find the cars up here!

It happened. We won with the Vega.
Led 18 of 20 laps again.
The track was very slick.
It is the first Chevy win in the mini class this year. All the other wins were by Fords and 1 Toyota. This is only the 5th race on this car.

i haven't seen many Chevroley mini stocks down here except in the chevett class i like the mustangs because it is much easier to find parts fore them i think it is harder to find them for cheveys just my 2 cents worth
