After two consecutive weeks of interference run by our famous monsoons, the
Tucson Kart Club finally enjoyed a full evening of racing last Friday
night, August 11th. The results of that race are as follows:

In Junior I - 4 Cycle, Cameron Gall came on strong from the start all the
way across the finish line. Mike Colegrove and Cody Cambensy battled
bumper to bumper finishing second and third. Derek Duffy pushed hard until
Sean Wilson overcame Duffy, taking fourth.

The Junior I - 2 Cycle class was definitely heads up and pushing hard in
all three events. Jason Smith, a new driver this season, exhibited his
natural talent for racing. Although, Ricky McGuire came through in the
main event, taking first. Justin Woolison drove hard against Smith for
second and Brandy Edwards placed fourth.

The Yamaha Light main was exciting as usual. Pat Eggman and Brian Acorn
were bumper to bumper for first until Patrick Arnold in third place tangled
up with the #2 kart. After the restart, Brian Acorn took a strong lead
finishing first, and Eggman placed second. Patrick Arnold and Allan Tyler
battled for third until Tyler spun out in the third lap, giving fourth
place to Jason Munday.

Over 40 had less racing contact than usual. Favorite Ed O'Brien took a
strong lead throughout the event placing first. Mike Schultz, Bruce Hille,
and Steve Hupp pushed hard in the first quarter. Hupp finished second,
Hille third, and Richard Malone passed Schultz for fourth.

In Super Stock, Dave Dobias maintained a distant lead from the start.
Darin Carson battled Ben Huddleston and Mark Engle for second, with
Huddleston coming in third.

In Adult 4 - Cycle, Tom Sickels spun out and injured his ankle in the first
lap, putting him out of the race. Even after restart, it was bumper to
bumper action throughout the event. Eddie McComb worked his way up from
third, placing first across the finish line. Kevin Behrendt placed second
and Jason Sutphen came in third. Colin Germain finished fourth even after
spinning out half way through the event.

Chris Stress and Geiler Eckman battled for first in Junior II - 4 Cycle
Heavy, while Corey Hosler, Travis Hooper, Ryan Olm, and Gary Goodrich
swapped positions not far behind. Pulling ahead, Hosler came in third and
Hooper finished fourth.

Yamaha Heavy also ran a tight race, swapping positions through the first
half of the event. In the second half, Bobby Collister maintained first,
Matt Brandon held second, and Andy North held third.

In Junior II - 2 Cycle, Carl Scott, a first season competitor, came on
strong from the start in the main and finished first. Kayli Schultz drove
hard for second through the first half of the event, while Jeremy Payne and
R.C. Whitwell swapped positions behind her. Payne spun out starting into
the second half of the event, putting R.C.Whitwell in second and Jeremy
Huebner in third.

In Senior Sportsman, Ben Miller consistently placed first in all events.
While in the main event, Jason Payne, Bucky Bell, and Susan Porter pushed
each other hard. About six laps into the event, Payne caught Porter on the
inside of turn one, taking second position. Porter spun out, putting Bell
in third place.

Also joining in the competition were the Stars who were heads up and
exciting all the way. Eddie Bonine placed first, Bill Hutto came in
second, and Jim Raymond placed third.
