This engine was acctually a "spec" engine to help lower the rising cost of karting.I have never seen one run.So I dont know about that.I do know they look and appear well enginered. And yes the 3hp flywheel is safe to acertain degree. But any flywheel that is cast can come apart.Specially if the blower housing gets crushed into it.I have turned the stock 3hp flywheel up to 9000rpm with out fail.I always wanted to get that class going but no one wanted to go that "unknown" route.Well hope this helps some.

A JPS mod engine would cost more but would have more HP.Like anything its how much you want to spend.

The BLUE WAZOOM is the fastest engine that I have put on the kart so far. Sat Night we came in 3rd in heat race. 8 Karts in heat 4 of them were flat karts. Yes regular racing flat karts in a Yard Kart class!! And we were only 20 feet behind two of the flat karts. This class started out as a yard kart outlaw. Why they let flat karts run in this class is beyond me! My kid is 11 years old im trying to teach him the basics of racing and get some seat time and be competitive and they change the rules every time we race.Out of the 8 that started 3 of the karts had to be carried off of the track because of the ruff driving of the flat karts. They started on my son in turn 2 then finaly spun him out in turn 4 taking out two more karts in the process. O AND BY THE WAY THERE ARE NO CAUTION FLAGS! We will no longer be racing at this track. I will take my kid to a track where there is Sportsmanship and fare racing. Not dimalition derby! Whee Sorry far the Rant but it had to be said! Smokey

FLAT KARTS WITH YARD KARTS!WHO RUNS THIS TRACK!?Talk about an unfair deal!I went from a yard kart to a CRAPPY flat kart(with the same engine). And thought I was in heaven.I dont blame you from leaveing that track behind.Hope your next experience is alot better!
