I have a destroked 400. It has a 350 crank and rods.

I have been told that the 400 is hard to cool.

The motor lives under the hood of an 81 cutlass stock car.

I am in the market for a new radiator. What I need to know is.....What size and brand is suggested?

I'd run a 31x19 aluminum and put a shroud on it. As far as brand i've had good luck with Howe or Griffin.

Howe or griffin are both good the more time you spend getting a quality fitting good working shroud the happier youll be...Its nice not having to worry about cooling problems.....Towman

Be sure your heads have steam holes, and books like John Lingenfelter on modifing small block chevys cover how to increase cooling by giving the block more rigidity by plugging coolant holes in the deck and redrilling them smaller, check it out.
