If i remember right you are running z-28 springs right? You need to check for coil bind, the pushrod slots should be plenty big except maybe for 1.6.

I run vortecs and guide plates If your running guide plates you can drill the holes with a 1/2 drill bit, Thats a suggestion for vortecs, they have round pushrod holes anyway and use self aligning rockers.

guide plates will fix your problems somewhat. Bent pushrods are a sign of either poor geometry or poor maintenence. Check lash and length of pushrods.

Take a black marker or some sort of blueing compound and color the end of the valve, put on your rocker, set the lash while on tdc on #1, rotate the motor by hand two revolutions back to tdc on #1, take off your rocker. If the wear spot on the marker is smack dab in the middle you are good to go. If its on the exhaust side you need a shorter pushrod, and a longer pushrod if the wear mark is on the intake side. If you do need to go to a different legnth you can buy adjustable pushrods from speedway. Hope this helps.

buy a pushrod length checker, made by moroso, about 10 bucks.

you should check for coil spring bind, and if you have so called z 28 springs its not enough, they can bounce the valve upon closing if the pressure isnt enough..

i would get long slot rockers on there 1.5.

are you studs pinned, or ***** in at least, if not when they start to pull out, you will get lots of lash, and it can happen very fast.. this will surely bend pushrods.
