At idle, when I push my brake pedal, My RPM'S shoot up 200/300 rpm. Running stock brake package on 72 Buick. Is this OK? Thanks, Race

You are probably still running the stock brake booster, and it probably has a vaccum leak. Disconect the vacuum line from the intake to the brake booster and plug the engine side to see if the problem goes away...

the "doctor" is in. the only relationship with your motor and brake pedal, when the car is in park, is the booster.

I'll ck it. Thanks. Next. Installed pwerglide last nite. Put in torqeconv. and spun until it clicked a few times. No room for fingers between TC and housing so I assume it is in OK. But, My TC and flex plate bolt holes are 1/2 inch from bolting together. If I snug the TC to the flex, will it pull my TC out to far and ruin trans. (Already did that once.) Please help.

Are you running a mid-plate? If so you will need to add equal thickness spacers between the conv. and the flex-plate.

You can use equal amount of flat washers to shim the flywheel and converter where its riding right in the front pump....towman
