358 sbc, 2 piece rear seal, 3 speed trany. baffled oil pan on 3rd season.
When car is parked and no motor running, I'm getting a small drip
out of the rear of oil pan. Looks like the drip comes from the botton lip of
the oil pan directly underneath center of crank. Over the last week sitting in
the gargae, I collected about 1/2 tablespoon of oil.

While the motor is running, at idle in the pits, or on jack stands in the
garage, or at track speed, I cannot detect any oil leak from rear of oil pan.
Within 1/2 hour or so of shutting motor off, the small drip starts.
I don't see any oil on the external part of the crank or the backside
of the flywheel or underneath the car anywhere.

I'm concerned that the leak may be coming from the rear main seal
when it appears it's not. If I had a tiny leak in the rear main seal, what
would that look like?

Otherwise, I guess I can live with the small drip coming from the pan.

if there is oil leaking i would find out where its coming from. it might be a small one now but it will only get bigger and cause lots of problems. when it comes from back there it can be either or both and you cant tell without pulling the pan. i new a guy that had the same problem and he let it go and while running 3rd or so in the feature he lost all of his oil and ruined the motor. it turned out to be the oil pan gasket finaly just came out. if it was me, i would pull the motor and get it fixed. good luck

Sounds like a very small crack in the oil pan , most likely in a weld . These type's of crack's are a pain to find , and very difficult to see on anodized oil pan's .
