steve*** what would be the correct way to plug the bypass? and also what is the best oil filter to use?

Pop out the spring and puck from the oil filter adapter , and then simply tap the hole with a 1/4" pipe tap and install a 1/4" pipe plug using red Loctite . I recommend using Wix filter's on all of the wet sump engines that we produce .

Be sure not to run the tap to far thru the hole. Thread the tap in about 3/8 of an inch, remove it, then test fit the plug. Do this till you have about a 1/32-to-1/16 of an inch still sticking up when plug is tight. I like to grind it flush so there is no interference with the oil filter.

I usually fill mine with a glob of JB Weld, and grind it flat.

I would stick to the luck the JB weld would break loose and cause problems elsewhere......
