to get 383ci. Take a 350 bore it 30 over
and drop in a 400 crank.
Or take a 400 and drop in a 350 crank.
Not sure why you would want to go the second way.

a 350 crank in a 400 is a 377 not a 383

With the help youre getting on this, the safe way would be to write a check to a engine builder!

when your stroking a engine the bore is not what makes the cid it's the bore and stroke of the crank you can either run a 350 block with 400 crank gives you 383 cid or you could run a 377 cid wich is a 400 block and 350 crank bolth are good combo's just depends on what your using it for as to wich one to use

DISPLACEMENT=

BORE X BORE X STROKE X .7854 X # CYLINDERS =

CUBIC INCH DISPLACEMENT

If I am not mistaken you can twist the 383 to mad Ripems. On the 377, it is a torque monster. (Dont want to twist this one too much, may take it home in a bucket).

Rev limiters come in handy if you are really heavy footed!

377 is the high rev motor. (Big bore/short stroke)
383 is the low rev torque motor. (small bore/long stroke)

Either are good just depends on what you want to do with them.
