The secondary side vent tube (Holley 4779 double pumper) blows gas like a drinking fountain.

This started after we rebuilt the carb, used a Barry Grant kit, with circle track floats.

Thinking different things:
1. to much fuel pressure (unplugged secondary side and it idled fine with just the primary) so probally not to much pressure.
2. float needle
3. float

We took it apart twice recleaned everything and checked float level, everything looked good. We even backed off the accelerater pump ***** .

When we tried blowing air by mouth into the fuel inlet, and lifting the float it restricted all of our air flow.

Anyone had a similar problem?
tomorrow i'll put the old float needle in, and see if this helps.

try and take a peice of rubber hose and join the two vent tubes together. then make a little slit in the top of the rubber hose. just my 3 pennies.

Thanks for the reply, but we figured it out yesterday.
The little tab on the float arm that the float needle sit's on needed to be bent up just a little.
Modified it and everthing went well.
