Getting ready to build my 355 B-Mod Claimer motor. Speed Pro Hyperutectic pistons, Reconditioned X rods with arp bolts, clevite 77 bearings, roller tip rockers. Had crank ground and polished. What Rod clearances, thrust, main bearing clearances and side clearances between rods should i look for. This is my first 350 i have ever built so i need to know what to look out for while building the engine. I am good with engines because i have built kart engines for a few years with many wins. All i need to buy now are some bare 441 heads.

Hey on those 441 heads, if you have a local metal scrap yard go there.
I picked up two sets for $5.oo each this fall.
They usually only charge metal price.
MY local yard is going to sponsor me know, So i go and look thru any motors that come in grab anything I need for free.

i have built a few 355s and i always clearenced my main and rod bearings at 3 thousands ring gap no more than 14 thousands which im just an o hillbilly some profesional engine builder may disagree

Wow .003 is really loose for the rods,i'd go more towards .002 rods and .0025-.003 mains.Ring gap sounds good for second ring and maybe could be a little wider say .018 on top ring but really depends on you're combo.IMHO

I agree on the brgs.. try to keep them around .0025 You can get by with .003 and a high volume pump but they wont hold up as long. Keeping the clearances around .002-.0025 gives them the greatest load carrying ability yet flows enough oil to keep them cool.

Ring gap can depend on piston type so go with manufacturers reccommendation there.
