a few times last year at some of the big boy races we noticed some modified guys that had breather tubes on both vale covers, and a hose from the tubes going into the header.
i guess my question is why? i am assuming it is to to let the motor breathe, but unlesss you had a fresh motor with no posability of blow by, couldn't you get yourself black flagged for smoke ?
anyone got any ideas on this , thanks for your help.

They do this to minimize the crankcase pressure that blows out gaskets and makes oil leaks. There's a horsepower advantage but not much at all. Be careful if you do this because it can suck a lot of oil out of the engine if it works too well.

Good luck,
