I have grown tired of these over the counter wire, always too short to get around the exhaust manifold. what type and brand does everyone run and give me suggestions for around 100 $$. Thanks

We usually buy plug wires for a big block to fit on our 355, but even then, they don't all reach when we run them under the headers. We ordered some the other day to fit under the headers for a 350 and they don't reach either. Our best bet is to usually buy two sets of the cheaper over the counter wires (Accel super stock 8mm) for a 454. Then use the longer wires from both sets. This probably wasn't what you were looking for, but it is the best I can offer. We usually go the cheapest way possible.

I always buy MSD's 8.8 universal set, that way I can cut & crimp them to the exact length I need. Nice and neat, and not burning wires that are to long.

I run a Summit brand solid core wire that you have to cut to lenght. I've never had a problem with them and they're less than $50.

100.00 pre made, all covered with heat covering, and numbered. just like msd's best but not as expensive.

from competition products. they are in the back of the catalogue, you can order straight or 45 or 90 degree boots, and over or under headers. they are really nice and should last forever, the heat stuff is 50 bucks alone to do a universal set.

i was hesitant to order ready mades but they fit very very well.

Moroso blue max race wires with heat sleeve.. around 100$. They come 2 ways over the valve cover style and under header style. WE run the under headers and they worked great.

This is a little of topic, but last year I had trouble burning off plug wires but the year before I did not with the same setup. I was wondering being the headers were new the first year and still had paint on them if that made very large difference in the heat on the wires. Is it worth coating them?

too lean will cause a lot of heat, as well as too much timing.
