Just got my block back from machine shop, 400 chevy bored .030 and .020 machined off the deck. After putting everything together I ended up with seven of the pistons .003 in the hole and one that is half in and half out. The number 2 piston measures .006 in the hole at the front and .005 out of the deck towards the rear. I checked the deck with a straight edge and it appears ok, my pistons are new Speed-Pro flat tops. What could cause this, Please help. Thanks

do you have floated pins, if so i would switch pistons around and find a better fit, maybe.

also rods,

your going to have to run head gaskets to allow clearance for the tallest one thats a bummer..

Sounds like a bent rod

Tried #4 piston in #2 cylinder and it measured a perfect .003 in the hole. A bent rod is my problem. Thanks for the help.
