Has anybody ever used 340 chrysler rods in a 350 chevy? What are the pros & cons of using this combo? I figured this would be the place to ask & get an honest answer. Thanks.

I don't know if it would work but you would have to bush the small end, chrysler uses a .9842" pin dia., chevy uses a .9272" dia. You would probably have to narrow the small end also, chrysler pin width is 1.205", chevy is 1.010". The big end spread on the chrysler is also wider 3.553", chevy is 3.361", this will probably require grinding on the block for clearance. I think it would just be cheaper buying aftermarket 6.125" chevy rods!!

Thanks Racer14K. Wasn't planning on doing it, just wondered if it could be done, or if the guy that told me about it was full of sh**. 66jj,you should'nt be so quick to insult people on here when they ask a question. If you don't know enough about the subject at hand to give an intelligent answer, maybe it would be best to go on to another thread. Have a nice day.

The crank pin diameter on the mopar is also larger.mopar 2.125 chevy 2.100.I run the after market chevy rods in my mopar by turning down the journals and wideing them.
