i have heard mention on this board and others of people rigging alternaters up to run off the rearend of the racecar. can somebody please elaborate on this?

I ran an alt off my 10 bolt and my 9 inch..works great and didnt cost much...I have pic of the on the 10 bolt workin on the pics of 9 inch..the 10 bolt is welded on and the 9 inch is bolted on..

Another option is the Barrett racing alternator/waterpump combination. The alternator is actually mounted inside the pulley of the waterpump. I will try to locate the site for you.

sure can it should be soon.the alt/water pump combo that noyb is talking about I beleive is on airflowresearch.com.. its called a race mate..

The only prblem I have with an alt on a 9" is that if you already have invested in a lot of different gears and you travel or change gear from time to time it's gonna be a big hassle. My next car I plan on having a quick change in so I will go for the alt on the rear.
