ok heres the motor i am building....its a 383 .030 over 4 bolt high nickle block. weisco pro tru pistons flat top with 2 valve relief. eagle 5140 6" rods bushed for floating pins. im gonna use pro iron heads with 50cc chambers. i will be running it in a stockcar and i'll be at around 13 to 1 compression. i'll be using a large motorcraft 2bbl as well as an imca 350 holley. i'd like to run it as high as 7000rpm. i need to decide on a crank and i dont know what to go with. i'd like to stay under 300$. i see the eagle 5140 cranks are selling for 299. i also am looing into the scat and CAT cast cranks. will i be better off with internal or external balance? i will have the whole assembly finish balanced and i have heard bad things about some scat cranks costing alot to balance? any help would be appreciated. thanks!

You are using good parts so why scrimp on the crank? With that compression use a 4130 0r 4340 for best results.H beam cat rods are better. I'm not saying the others won't live, but the good stuff lives longer...been there done that.

eagle has a lw 50 lb for 399.99 4340, internally balanced. get that youll be happy..
