posted December 30, 2002 11:54 PM i know they aren't the best in the world but does anybody know what the ones with the big valves came stock on i got a 79 van given to me the other day and i popped the covers off to see the #'s just wondering if i got the good one or not before i gett it all torn down

Truck engines are usually never over 1.94-1.50 i had some off a van but a different cast# and they we're 1.78-1.50,and by the way 624's are supposed to be the worst bar none for cracking.

posted January 02, 2003 06:16 PM ya i know about the duribility i was not going to run them just hoping they had the big valve so i could have a better chance of selling them i have a set with the smaller valves on ebay now been on there a month ever since i posted the valve sizes nobody has asked about them

I have heard of the 624 cracking but i have also heard of some heads recalled (replaced ect..) on some camaro's of that era as well. same numbered head but with the 2.02's 161 cfm.
