YES! Domed pistons and Vortec heads mix like oil and water! Turn your Vortec head over and examine the combustion chamber. Notice how it has a kind of heart shape? Now take note of the spark plug location. There are some domed pistons which are designed specificly for the Vortec cylinder heads, but I would suspect they would be quite pricey. You might consider having your heads angle milled and the deck height of your block machined to 9.000" That will bring your compression up and help the heads to perform better too. I've got a set from a reputable shop in Florida-they suggested using the 1.94" intake valve and a 1.6" exhaust. I haven't bolted mine on yet..somebody chaned the rules and "saved" me some $$$$$$! ----NOT!

A # 99480 Ross was made for a 18 degree head but works quite nicely with the Vortec's.Very stout and reliable
