Looking at building a 383. What do I need to do with my 350 block (grinding)to make it work? Thanks for the help. Raceinmud

i am building a 383, it depends on how long your rods are. i used 5.7" and only did a small amount near the bottom of the cylinder bores.

Sometimes you have to clearance the pan rails the rod bolts will hit on some blocks just something to look for. I wish i could tell you the clearance needed to be safe but i cant remember the numbers.

Will the rod bolts hit the camshaft, with 6" rods?

with 5.7 rods the rod bolts hit the cam with rods #2 and #6

Try for .060 everywhere. Easy to get with this combo. I use pieces of 1/16" aluminum TIG wire with little ears bent on them, and clay on shoulders of rods, where cam is close. Exercise some caution down by the oil pan rail, 'cause there is water in there, and caveman grinding will find it!
