I'm getting ready to have a B mod motor built and I'm looking for suggestions. We must use a 350 block no aluminum, blocks, heads etc. Must run a 2 barrel carb on gas. The track is a 3/8 mile, flat, dry slick. Any help would be appreciated. If anyone has a motor for sale let me know also. Thanks.

I'd say a 6 inch rod 355 would be a good start...The key to getting these motors to run is cam choice!!

we have to run the same engine described above, only our rules say 5.7 rods, so then what would the suggestion be????

we have a 9.5 to 1, can't run any good heads really, can only be 362 cubic inch, stock rods, stock crank, steel cast iron intake, 2 barrel 500 holley carb, but i do have to agree with the comment about the cam, i think that is the key as well, but any other suggestions on what would be best for this kind of motor, would be appreciated

Is there a claim rule??? If not run the lightest, most reliable stuff you can afford in the bottom end. The less weight you have swinging around the better. I run a good set of 441 heads on my motor..I put big valves in them and they flow pretty desent. If you can run a marine intake , go with that!

We have no cubic inch rule, no head rule, no rod length rule, Our rules state, must use a block no bigger than a 350, no aluminum blocks, heads, etc. Must run a 2 barrel on gas. Thats all the rules we have.

in that case you can go all out get a 400 crank and and stroke it run 6 in rods and a good set of after market heads same thing any a mod guy would run just a smaller carb and no alky

Goindirt----by looking at your profile and your rules im going to assume your going to run at Winston. Go with the best you can afford.....thats what all the front runners are doing in bmod. Same group up front each week. I run that class, if you need any help just ask. Oh yea.....throw that Chevy crap away and get Ford!!!!!!

1 more thing-----gas engines run hot....make sure to get a good fan shroud. We also added coolant lines to back of intake for better water flow....never got over 185 after doing this.

Well I'd love to go to a Ford but the guy thats helping me out with the funding is a die hard chevy guy so I'm out of luck thier. Yes I am going to be running up at Winston. It's good to hear from someone else from there. I need all the help I can get. I'm new to dirt I've been on asphalt. I really need help on set up also, shocks, springs, gear, but most guys don't give that information out. We've got an older Dirt Works with only one season on it (4 link). Thanks
