I have read in the posts somewhere that Mobil 1 is not compatible with alcohol. Wanting to be sure, I contacted Mobil and they replied; "Mobil does not recommend the use of Mobil 1 synthetic motor oils with the use of alternate fueled vehicles".

Ihave also been told that Mobil 1 is not compatible with alky but we have run it for 3 years now and have had zero problems. We change filters every other night adn oil either 4 or 6 nights depending on conditions. Dont get me wrong if we get a lot of fuel in it or it smells like alky we will change it early just to be safe. But I have to say we have had no problems at all and the builder said everything inside looked like new after the first year.

That is pretty typical of most oil companies... I have a quick lube business and I deal with propane vehicles and made plenty of those calls also... Truth it you will probably never get to talk with anyone that really knows and they will mostly talk in circles... $.10

I'm with you Speer, I too run a lube shop and have had double talk from reps. But I was looking for a product that actually said "for use with alcohol". The Royal Purple 41 does say that. And Pennzoil used to have a 20/50 racing oil that said on the bottle it was good for alcohol but is not a synthetic. AOCA #939
