i bought a set of pistons this weekend because the price was really right but not sure what they are. the tag with them says 358 pistons and on the package it says recommended finished cylinder size 3.9955 the only 358 motors i have heard of is winston cup. will these work in a small block and is it a good combination thanks

there is a bunch of ways to get to 358 CID other than .040 over 350. The WC engines are 358's with a shorter stroke and bigger bore. I'm sure someone on here knows all the combos better than me.

A 3.56" stroke with a 4.00" bore will equal a 358 motor.

a 3.5625 can be offset ground from a 3.48 stroke(and run with chevy small journal rods), or bought off the shelf.
it is normally reffered to as a "9/16" (or 3 9/16) stroke crank.
