Did GM ever make one? I am assuming they are all aluminum, but just guessing. Thanks.

Are you talking about the TBI body itself or the TBI intake manifold? the intake manifolds did come in cast iron ('87 trucks, for instance, had them).

Hope that helps,

Ah yes, the intake...and specifically, I am looking for one that will bolt up to vortec heads. Probably a shot in the dark, but I really want to run these vortec heads and have to run a stock cast iron intake, no hi rise or marine.

In that case, what you want is the cast iron Vortec intake that came on them. Scoggin Dickey has 'em for sale all day long. Junkyard intakes from 87 and up will have that same bolt pattern too, I believe. If you're limited to a 2bbl cast iron intake, then I can say for 100% certainty that the '87 Chevy truck with a 350 engine had the intake on it that you need (because there's one sitting on my shop floor right now). LOL!. But if all it's gotta be is a cast iron intake, then get the quadrajet intake from GM. Then get back with me on what mods to do to it to make it even better.

Hope that helps,

scoot i would go to brezinski's site and look at the cast intakes they have and use an adaptor on one instead of trying to adapt a two barrel to a throttle body intake it will work better there was a post about a stock intake on the forum that listed a link to a dealer that sold one that looked like a stock quadrajet but had vortec mounts,it would work too.oh brezinski's site is cast-heads.com

i have a cast iron intake with spreadbore carb pattern that will bolt up to vortec heads, it is not a modified early style intake , it is a new casting. e-mail me at modi25@aol.com if interested may get more if interestis there. or you can call 972-595-5467 let it ring and ask for kevin speaks, the phone is in shop and sometimes hard to hear, or at night 972-227-9127.
