I'm thinking of getting into a class that requires running the 305 Chevy with Brodix spec heads. Will the stock 305 crank and rods (with ARP bolts) live for a season at 7000 rpm in a 1700# sprint car? The rules are vague so I think that a cheap aftermarket crank like a Scat might be acceptable and same with cheap aftermarket rods like the 5140 rods that Speedway sales. Would these be the way to go? I am on a budget but would like the engine to last a full season or more. Thanks

can you run a 302 chevy? sprint cars just love big bore, short stroke combinations.
