I've heard it's a good idea to cement or "stick" some strong magnets in the oil pan or in the valve spring area of the heads. Does anyone have pointers for best results? I'm about to button up a new engine and I'm always interested in an effective cheap trick.

Many people will laugh at you but I put mag. in every motor I build. You never get all the crap out of a new motor,& the valve train is constintly wearing.I have had new motors just after breakin make the mag. look like little Che-a pets.

Remember those boom boxes we all had in our youth? We maybe some of us still do. The speakers have VERY strong magnets in them.

look at a wholesale tools distributor. i've seen some very powerful magnets there. another place is on ebay. there's a guy on there also selling some stout ones.
