Hi. I'm running a chevrolet 3.8L v6 in my dirt car... completely stock.

The engine gets hot (220-230) after about 20-25 laps. Then I shut it down to let it cool off. After that, I can't get it started... I crank and crank until the battery eventually wears down and nothing. I try holding the pedal down and I've tried pumping it.

Any suggestions? What could be wrong? How can I fix it?

Thanks,
Sal

when you come off the track, leave it running and pour water on the radiator. that will cool it off quickly. i never like to just shut one off right when i come in.

i agree i always cool mine down like that i have a bucket waiting everytime i come in then have them slowly poor it on while you rev it up a bit to get the water flowing will drop it 20-30 degrees also check and make sure your fuel line is not near anything hot that could cause problems also
