i'm putting in a new cam and was wondering what a good break in process is ??

Run it for 20-25 min at 2000-3000rpms. vary the speeds a little during this time. If you have a problem and have to shut it down remember as soon as you restart keep it revved up until you get you time in.
Another good idea is to add a bottle of GM engine oil supplement to your oil to help protect the lifters and cam during breakin.
Try to avoid excessive cranking to fire it. Try to get you timing close so that it fires right away otherwise all that cranking will wipe all the cam lube off and there will be nothing to protect it.
