i JUST REPLACED THE STOCK 1.5 ROCKERS ON MY STREET STOCK. WITH LASH SET TO .016 AND THE ENGINE SPUN ON THE STARTER THERE WAS NO COMPRESSION. i HAVE LARGE DIA. VALVESPRINGS AND THE ROCKER WAS HITTING ON THE RETAINER OPENING THE VALVE. iNSPECTION OF THE ORIGINAL ROCKERS SHOWED MUCH THE SAME MARKINGS. I USED A DREMEL TOOL WITH A 5/8" SANDING ARBOR TO REMOVE ABOUT .010. tHATS OKAY SINCE THIS IS A STRONG PART OF THE ROCKER.

I THOUGHT I WAS THROUGH UNTIL I LOOKED AT THE ROCKER BALLS. HAVING ONLY BEEN TURNED A FEW TIMES ON THE STARTER THEY SHOWED DEEP SCRATCHES FROM A BURR ON THE ROCKER SLOT. THE DREMEL TO THE RESCUE. EACH ROCKER HAD A BURR WHERE THE HOLE WAS PUNCHED. YES, I DID GET A NEW SET OF ROCKER BALLS. IS THIS WHY THEY SAY CHECK EVERYTHING?
