I found some rockers (lifters) pretty spongy on an engine we've got. It was run a couple of times and ran OK, then it was taken out and stored for seven months. It has a hydraulic cam and lifters. Do you think I should fire it up and see if the lifters will stiffen up and re-run the valve lash? I don't know if the lifters weren't blead properly at build up or if the 7 months of no use leaked oil out of them. What do you guys think?

you can try priming the lifters first with a drill and old distributor which would also help out the whole motor sitting that long. with my experience with motors, lifters will sometimes bleed down after sitting for a long time
