We run a Pure Street at the local dirt track on saturday nights. The rules say after the feature race the top three cars have to have the vacuum checked as soon as they come off the track (must pull 17in of vac at 1000 RPMs).We placed third so when they checked the vacuum we only pulled 14 inches and last week we checked it several times and it was pulling 18 in.We got disqualified and lost the points and the money. We noticed after they checked the vac that the motor it was makeing a whistleing sound, vacuum leak right?
When we got it home we sprayed carb cleaner around the motor and couldnt find the leak.
So what i'm thinking is the vac leak is internal because the intake is leaking or cracked. There is something wrong with the carb to After the motor warms up it starts smokeing and there is oil and gas laying under the carb in the intake.
Anybody ever had problems with a cracked intake or have any more ideas? It just started doin this after the feature the other night. It stinks having a legal car and having it DQed!!Now everybody thinks we were cheating!

Tried that. all of the gaskets were sealing
We Took the intake off this morning and checked for cracks under the heat sheild and saw nothing obvious. Now we're thinking it may be a cracked head. They were supposed to be checked for cracks, but you know how some people will tell you anything to sell something.
