I found out that on Vortecs the valve guide is too tall and needs to be machined down to keep from hitting the v-springs on cams over .470 lift.

Goodson (www.goodson.com) makes an easy to use tool that I use to fix this. You run it in a 1/2" drill and cut the guide down for positive seals. I just cut enough off to have about .600 lift with the seal installed.

I think the tool, with pilot runs about $60.

Last year when my brother bought some he had the same problem but I cant remember what he did to correct it
