Am I right in thinking that none of my 350 parts know the differnce between a a 350 and 400?

What I mean is, as far as the accessories, flywheel, heads, transmission, ect is concerned, are 350's and 400's identical?

The flywheels and heads are different but the heads you can use. The flywheel can be used but you need some kind of balancing thing go to who ever does your machine work or go to a parts store they probably sell the balancing thing (I am not sure what it is called) just tell them that you are putting a 350 flywheel on the 400 and they will know what you need. The 350 heads can be used but 400 heads have steam holes in them that let extra water through to cool the motor under 1500 rpms you really dont need them but my Dad says that you need them when your idling so that it doesnt get hot. One more thing you better not put over 11:1 compression unless you are running alky or it will get hot. If you have never had a 400 you will tell a big difference coming out of the corners but I wouldnt go much over 6000 rpms or it will scatter the 400 stuff is to heavy. If you have any questions ask and I'll be glad to help you.
