Have any of you guys ever tried water injection?I tried it on my van and it seems to work ok & i was wondering if anyone has tried it on a race engine(the theory being that you get a cooler/denser fuel mix)if so what set up did you use?

What did you use for the nozzel and where did you position it? What did you use to control the rate of water injected? I have always heard of this system just have never seen one.

I have seen it used in the unlimited class at the Reno Air Races but don't know anything about how it is done.

The "system" i used on my van was very crude to say the least.It consisted of a nozzel off a spray gun,a washer bottle with its motor and a switch wich activates it at about 3/4 throttle(the nozzel is mounted above the carb).This seems to work ok as my van doesn't pink under load now but i don't know if it would worth trying on a race engine.I think a company called Aquamist produces a professional version but it costs about $1000 & mine cost me about $10!

WATER INJ IS GREAT TO SUPRESS DETONATION IF YOU HAVE INFERIOR FUEL IN A HIGH COMP STREET MOTOR BUT WILL COST YOU HP IF YOU HAVE GOOD FUEL IN A RACE MOTOR BECAUSE THE WATER DISPLACES AIR AND AIR MIXED WITH FUEL IS WHAT MAKES POWER.BILL
