Its easy to understand , but hard to do correctly. Porting is when remove some of the casting in the runners of your heads in order to improve flow by increasing the area. usually around the intake runners on the head. polishing is when you smooth the surface so that it will flow better. ( heads are cast and the runners are ruff inside). polishing is relatively easy for the beginner just get out your dremel and get busy. As for the porting it would pay you to get someone to help you that has ported before.
