I was wondering what the advantages of having a 415 vs a 406 motor. I know they have to grind away some of the block for the crank in the 415 motor but is it really worth the extra cost to have all the extra work done or would I be better off just staying with a 406 motor. And by the this will be a 14:1 comp motor.
What are the likes and dislikes of the 415ci motor? Thanks in advance for your responses.

The advantage would be more torque ,but not by much . But in a stock block , your limited to how long of a rod you can run . So the rod/stroke ratio is not good . If I had my choice between the two , 406 or 415 , I'd go with the 406 if using a 9" deck block . But if your talking a tall deck block ........ then go with the 415 .
