Anybody run them on their cars, what is the ideal exhaust temperature from an engine?

I do, an alcohol motor should run about 1100deg. A gas motor would be different, it verys with compresion ratio.

It will get warmer with more compression, right?

Thanks CNC

Jammin, call Jeff at http://www.exhaustgas.com/
1.800.348.4678 He/they seem very knowledgeable in this area.
They are a Digatron dealer and Jeff has one of their units in his sprint car. He is really sold on "on board" egt readings, says he has really shaved some time off of his laps.

I run one, sure helps in setting the jetting. Am working on a deal now to sell them. Stay tuned...

It gets hotter with less compression. I think its because more compression will burn more efficient and there is less raw fuel in the exhaust.
