Hi

I'm building a 355cui/750 holley chevy engine. The rules say i must use cast iron heads GM or Dart. porting is allowed. What would be the best head for this combo. Any suggestions.

With that big of a carb, Iron Eagles, with big valves.

I'm limited to a holley 350 carb and I like the Vortecs so far...

Yes , in your application the Vortec's would work well . But in a class with a big carb. and without a valve lift rule , the Iron Eagles will shine . I use the Vortec on any engine that is limited to an OEM production head . I use the Iron Eagle on all of my engines that are just limited to steel heads only . I've got several Iron Eagle engines running that use 500 Holley's , but none with 350's . What type of class do you run that requires a 350 Holley ?

sdhnc, It's the IMCA Stockcar class. IMCA, in their infinite wisdom stuck us with the Holley 350 last year. Before that it was an unlimited OEM 2 barrel.

We went with the Vortecs because of their small intake runner and high velocity flow. Felt like that'd be the best bet with the tiny carb...

Any ideas on making more power with that carb are welcome!
