The local 1/2 mile dirt track is starting the pony or mini stock car class in 2002 and I would lide to know what is the best kind of car to use?
Something fast with a lot of horsepower.
Friend of mine is looking at a mercury capri and a ford mustang that has a 2.3L 4 cylinder in it,is the 2.3L ford a good choice?

At the track where I run I have built a number of mini stockers. The 79 on up Fox body cars work good but need alot of front end help. The 74 -78 mustangs work real good and so do the Pintos. Pending on track condition, we built a Escort, it has a 1.9 liter in it so it could weigh lighter, on a wet, heavy track it would spank the field but they dont take much of a beatin. Mustang or pinto would be a good choice!!
