What piston is the best for building a budget or a claimer engine?

This was a tough choice I think you can make a Speed Pro or KB piston either one work fine in a claimer engine. KB's seem to give you a better dome for more compression right out of the box and they use a roll pin that I dont like to hold the oil ring in place. Speed Pro's dont use the pin for the oil ring, but as I mentioned before the speed pro's dont have as much compression right out of the box. So for a true claimer engine its tough to go wrong with either one of these brands.


TRW forged pistons, are little less expensive then say a Ross or JE but to my way of thinking if you are building a true claimer then cast piston are the answer.


Just my humble opinion.
