Has anyone ever tried to run a low compression alcohol engine? I read that some drag racers had been doing it for awhile. I was thinking that going to a lower compression ratio might help in a modified. Wish i'd have kept the article. I can't remember all the particulars but you had to have a certain cylinder preesure for it to work. Or something like that.

In order to run low compression engine you have run a special low compression cam and matching intake - piston shape for reversion, to make any power with this combo it takes know how, and probably more money than it's worth.

i did once for almost a year. i didnt mess with cams to much with it. it worked great when the track was dry slick but on a heavy track it lacked power. i am sure you can get things to work better if you get a cam and matched intake setup, advice from people who have done it for awhile it will work
