Has anybody ever played with the springs that come with the MSD distibutor to adjust the sweep from initial timing? I read the brochure that came with it but it seemed to pull you one way for an application and back the other way between soft or stiff springs so I never changed them and ran what was installed from the factory. It runs fine but I'm always looking for a little moore speed. This is in a modified.

I have played with springs my distibutor and never notice any real diffrence in proformence in the motor..I have tried eveyr thing from lite springs stiff springs to no springs ...I run a kit now that suposed to advance it I think 4 degrees as soon as it starts...I jus wish I could find a way to get rpm out of my motor ..

I would suggest running no springs in the dist. This gives it full advance right after it starts. It makes it stronger a the lower rpm because you don't have to wait for the rpm to go up to let the springs advance it. It also makes the motor idle better.
